Pros

Professional staff such as RN

Cons

Sime of the staff such as some of CNA not all but most at Deland Florida location are downright ghetto and just disrespect ful . I guess there main goal is just making $10.00 an hour for the rest of their life so there miserble. They gossip and they were bullies. Its sad. I continued my education in the nursing field so I ended on moving on from this location to bigger and better things. I feel bad for the resident s there were constant allegations of abuse towards the elderly. It was always the same employees.

It is hard when you have co-workers that have different values and perspectives than you. You sound as if you found a way to provide high standards of quality care to our residents, despite others having different approaches. Sadly, not everyone feels that compassionate or caring. Unfortunately, sometimes management efforts are made, but have to be kept confidential as to outcomes and it may seem like nothing is happening. It is a challenge when people don't all have the same goals and desires. It is fortunate that you were able to grow in your career and move forward, however it is also unfortunate that you weren't able to stay and use that passion in your career with the elderly we serve. I wish you well.

Pros

Good-Sam shows respect towards most of their employees. It is a casual place to work and great for those who are financially well off. Good-Sam values their employees' time and very rarely requires overtime.

Cons

Pay raises are linked to an index published around June of the preceding year. Pay raises are the same for all employees and are not linked in any way to job performance unless one has been written up (which seems rare). Good-Sam has a communication problem and employees will find out the facts from a local newspaper before the company mentions anything, if at all.

Thank you for your feedback about the work environment as we do want to respect others opinions and have some fun at work. Certainly wages can be a concern, and as you know, our wages are based on the reimbursement given to our field locations that generate our revenue streams. You are correct in that we do not have a pay for performance compensation system. And as you mention, communication flow is not perfect, but it is an area to constantly be working on and improving, as are the areas of follow-up and follow through. Thank you for your service all of these years to the Society.

Thank you for providing your comments about the company. Each location can be so different, yet our goal is to provide high quality care to the seniors in that community. I am pleased to hear that some leadership issues were resolved and perhaps the new leadership focus will continue to build on the desired outcomes towards the seniors that receive care.
