Pros

Easy work Good for part time work Some coworkers are nice and chill to talk to. You can get food and leftovers after supper, and for various meals.

Cons

Ridiculously small pay raises. I received 41 cents because I am very good at my job. Most receive 10 cents. PTO gets auto used on holidays. Management once “accidentally” didn’t see that when I was staying overnight and getting paid for it, it was using my PTO. 18 hours gone and non refundable I’ve been told. Management is bad at finding and hiring new people, leading to many short staffed shifts. It is common to be called in or asked to work on your days off. If you don’t respond or don’t accept you sometimes get bullied upon your next shift. Horrible coworkers. Some have been working there 15 years or more and don’t know how to train people without screaming at them. Management does little to nothing about wrongdoings. People can show 15 mins late or more, no consequences. People can ridicule and bully others blatantly and no real consequences. People can take 45 minute breaks instead of 15, no consequences. Very lax managing and definitely a bad sign. Interdepartmental communication is abysmal. Manager expects you to find replacements for your shift and if you do miraculously find a replacement and they don’t show you get the absence. Schedules for the next month are often given out a few days before the start of that next month. Only one time was I ever given a schedule halfway through the month for the next month. Manager is always on their phone playing a game or watching stuff.

Pros

Work culture where staff is genuinely dedicated to the residents. Good pay, excellent benefits. Administrative support. Plenty of supplies to do my job! I was a travel CNA with Good Sam, so worked in many of their facilities across the Midwest. Their values and standards were consistently high. Staff was consistently welcoming and kind.

Cons

No real cons. Most of their building are getting older and could use some updates. Some facilities are cramped because of this. (Narrow bathroom doors, smaller rooms.)
