Pros

Goodreads really makes an effort to hire only smart, motivated, positive individuals. Everyone I worked with there was amazing. Also a social atmosphere - many happy hours. Good perks like catered lunch, free books... Management is very open minded to feedback. Lots of opportunity.

Cons

As the company grows, starting to get more bureaucratic.

Pros

-Goodreads is an awesome website and everyone here is super passionate about it -A lot of smart people and we have loads of fun hanging out together -With Amazon we have the potential to do amazing things for reading!

Cons

The Product team runs the company from the top down with an ARROGANT attitude and it's DRAGGING THE COMPANY DOWN. They desperately try to convince the rest of us that WE own and drive development but they have already prioritized the next year behind closed doors! We're welcome to E-MAIL in our feedback, but you don't get to be a part of the conversations if you're not part of their inner circle! They've left authors and USERS out in the cold because they don't see them contributing to the "goals" they set.
