      Cool Place To Work While Developing A Career

      Pros

      Pretty laid back if you come in and do your job well. If you get the right manager you don't have to worry about micromanagement however I've heard that it does happen.

      Cons

      They say they promote internal advancement but most of the positions are given to outside of the agency candidate. There's not a lot of youth within their workforce which reflects in their work environment not being too open to new change. Again, they say they will listen but the proof is in the pudding. Insurance sucks if you have children or large family, I don't so I don't pay much however family plans are nearly 500 per month with insurance.

      Pros

      One only things good about working for Goodwill in Austin is the people who work with you. I left GWICT with some friends for life. The benefits were good as well.

      Cons

      The pay is terrible. It is almost slave labor and no matter what they tell you, there are millions of barriers to employment. Their motto is a complete scam. After working my butt off for 2 years......I wouldn't even do community service there if you paid me. All of the managers they hire don't have a clue what it is to have compassion for your employees.

      Pros

      The CEO of Goodwill New Mexico is a very nice, caring lady who believes in what shes doing. Goodwill is awesome helping people in the community with disablities by offering them work.

      Cons

      Management on the director level is suspect. Facilities director was someone who I would not trust. He was has few people skills and no mangement skills. They hire parolees and pay them nothing for the hard work they do and unfortunately treat them very poor.
