Pros

Goodwin Recruiting is an incredible place to build your own business with the backing of a highly supportive team. Although this is a 1099 role where you are fully in charge of your own success, the company provides outstanding training, tools, and guidance at every level. The culture is uplifting and collaborative — Area Directors, Regional Directors, RP’s, and even the CEO maintain an open-door policy and are always willing to listen and provide advice. Once I committed the time and dedication needed, I found myself achieving a level of success I didn’t think was possible. The combination of independence and support makes Goodwin truly unique.

Cons

This role may not be for everyone. Success requires hard work, perseverance, and a willingness to consistently source and build relationships. If you treat it like a job, it will be difficult — if you treat it like your own business, it can be extremely rewarding.

Pros

Personal flexibility, great relationships, work from home and in my surrounding community, work from anywhere and still appear to be in my community, a team that invests in me probably more than I invest in them

Cons

It can be scary because I "I eat what I kill" being 100% commission. This role taught me to budget, save, and invest wisely in my time, my business, my community, and my people. I did not really know how to do this when I first started, and I made lots of mistakes. Sometimes the mistakes seemed catastrophic until I talked with someone and they said, "I did that too". The role can be isolating so you need to find community. You need to find the partners and the clients you want to work with.

Pros

Remote. Ability to make your own hours. Unlimited income potential

Cons

No health care because you are 1099. Long start up of 6 to 12 months before seeing any income. Remote work can be challenging if your learning style is hands on. Training is not as in depth as it could be.

Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. We know it can be challenging to launch your recruiting business and that ongoing training is vital. We have made many adjustments to the training model this year, and you have likely just received the invitations to the new "Branch Out Your Recruiting Business" trainings, which we will be delivering throughout August and September. As well, you will see several new training programs launched in 2026 to support ongoing recruiting and leadership development. I hope you find in the coming months that you have all the tools and support you need.
