Pros

Great Campus, benefits. Highly selective hiring process. Smart co-workers. Cutting edge technical projects.

Cons

Power struggle between new and tenured employees. Program Management organization is highly dis-organized and not respected. Expected to concurently manage a very large number of projects. Punishing workload.

Pros

Smart people Interesting projects Uses own software and platforms Great benefits Exposure to technology Great internal learning opportunities

Cons

Not many that I can think of that are specific to Google. A few managers who weren't terribly hands-on from a technology perspective, caring only about deadlines. But, then again, that's part of their role as managers. Happens in all companies. Performance review process had become rather onerous, but it was adjusted almost every year to address this issue.
