Poor management, training, and opportunities.

Pros

Hourly wage is slightly higher than most companies in the area. 12 hour rotating shifts gives days off during week, but you work every other weekend

Cons

No training, company does not invest anything into employees that would allow them to succeed or advance. Benefits package is minimal, one of the worst I have ever seen.

Pros

Decent wage, fair time off, long time customer relations provide stability, there are a lot of really good ideas on improvement.

Cons

Those ideas aren't acted on, many plans seem to have been made with a magic 8 ball, a strong attitude of "no need to change this, been working fine for the last ten years..."

I get away with everything because management is busy scrambling to save their own (expletive deleted)

Cons

There is a total lack of leadership from shift supervisors to the plant manager. Driven strictly by the bottom line with little regard for their "Safety at all costs" ideals. Lost employees are not replaced in a timely fashion, and new employee training program is non existent putting a huge load on long time employees without increase in pay.
