Pros
The Christian faculty and atmosphere created by Christian students is wonderful. Middle management cares for their employees and protects them from poor upper management.
Cons
Real leadership is deficient. The business side of GCU is definitely not Christian as evidenced by their open opinions of anyone who did not come from University of Phoenix (and a few who did). They talk the talk of Christianity, but this really seems to be a ploy to put butts in seats. Berating subordinates in meetings, exaggerating monetary contributions to the community, exaggerating placement rates, etc. are not signs of Christian love. To save money, this for-profit university staffs areas with student workers to avoid hiring FTE's. This may bolster the stock price by reducing personnel costs but it also reduces the quality of service to students. It is a shame that Christianity will take another black eye when this charade is exposed as just another money-making venture by carnival barkers.
