University of Phoenix (with a Cross hanging out front...)
Pros
1. Student Affairs does a great job promoting the Christian aspects of GCU on the main campus. 2. They make money...
Cons
...but the money they make is more like mammon. Anyone who worked in the business side of UoP knows what Grand Canyon is all about. This university went from a Christian college to a cult-like following built around the direction of one man and the minions who followed him from UoP. This, in itself, would not be bad if not for the way they treat their full-time people. Ranting at and belittling Deans, favoring those who followed the leader from the failed model at University of Phoenix, burning out people to make "numbers", enrolling barely literate online students to make "numbers". A toxic environment where too many have impregnated their own ethics with the insidious seeds of behavior imported from the east side of Phoenix. Faculty need not be Christian to teach here. It's somewhat disheartening to see that part-time student workers are posting reviews on GlassDoor; leaving people with false positive impressions of the culture. This might convince others to want to join this company. Attend to the full-time worker reviews for an honest look, then make a decision. Unfortunately, Christianity will likely receive a black eye the size of Jimmy Swaggart's head when the past practices of these "Christians" are finally uncovered.
