There is no interpersonal interaction with anyone at the school. You will hear from a different person each year for your performance review. The pay is low- as in $1,000- $1,500 below other schools for the same course length and student load. There is also a significant amount of work. My classes have assignments every week, and sometimes both individual and group assignments in one week. It takes a long time for corrections to be made in a course. I have given feedback on rubric errors etc. that took over a year to fix, and on revision there were new errors. In the meantime you have to manage student confusion. Despite the school's slow response to instructor feedback be prepared to take a multi-day re-training course if you make one single error in the class, something as simple as accepting a late assignment without documenting you gave the student an extension- one time in one class. It's very draconian- without positive feedback on areas you've excelled, gone above the requirements, or for having excellent student reviews about your engagement and knowledge. It was better here a few years ago and I'm going to phase out working here. There are better schools to work for.

Brian Muller is drives this sinking ship. Once a University of Phoenix guy that uses Christian values to promote education. This is a business. The admissions reps are sales people period. You have a head set and make calls all day trying to find hit your monthly goal to keep your job. If your good at signing up students or well liked by a manager your safe. But for the majority of employees your days are numbers if you don't hit your sales quota. Being trapped in on giant call center with a head set all day isn't fun. Especially with a manager always hovering over you to make sure your hitting your phone dials.
