Pros

Great opportunity to make good paycheck, more then reasonable time off, and no hassle through union halls.

Cons

Gutted management and replaced with under-qualified, narcissistic, and a general lack of professionalism individuals.

Pros

good amount of time off. great health benefits. great pay. This is a very friendly industry to motivated people who like to work and learn at a very fast pace.

Cons

gone for weeks at a time if you have a family. physically demanding. You get 2 weeks off at a time after your 4 week hitch but it is still hard for a particular type of person. you will be spending long hours every day working.

job socks! no relief. have to work and office staff don't care. bunch of paper pushers that don't have a clue of life on board a ship. low pay
