Pros

The best reason to work for Graybar is the pension but they no longer offer pensions to new employess

Cons

Management has a "what have you done for me lately attitude". They make you feel that your successes is because you work for Graybar and they have little regard for you as a person. They make you feel like you bring nothing to the table and can easily be replaced.

Pros

There are many - stock and 401k offerings, pretty generous paid time off plans, the health and dental plans are great and affordable and for me the branch I worked out of (Westwood, MA) has a great branch manager who is open to feedback and was very responsive whenever I needed help. I did see other reviews where branch culture was demotivating. I have had that experience at my previous company so I can understand what a "con" that is for people. I luckily had positive experiences with my office.

Cons

I would have to say the cons were mostly generated from the corporate level. There are so many steps/rules/people involved in even the smallest tasks, to where you give up seeing them through. As for being in sales, the expense report was such a pain to do you would always be behind in sending them because you didn't feel like spending the time doing them. And there always seemed to be contests with certain vendors to get you to push their products. I feel that at some level that is a conflict. You should provide your customers with the products that best fit their needs, not sell them the items you could win money or trips for.
