Pros

Salary was appropriate for the type of work and experience I had. Could be a good environment IF local office had better management.

Cons

Local office manager was quite possibly one of the worst human beings I have ever had the displeasure of knowing. You either agree with his opinion on EVERYTHING or you fall out of favor. He was also a huge pervert and racist. It is a wonder he and the company have not been sued for harassment.

Pros

Vitality health incentives. Gym but can only use it on lunch break. Stable company.

Cons

IT Services is the most secretive, ridiculous, political and immature environment I've ever worked in. Infrastructure is totally inefficient. There are so many bad managers, especially mine. Contradicts himself constantly and a terrible communicator.

Pros

The benefits are decent. As an Underwriter, my salary is good. I enjoy the company of some of my coworkers.

Cons

Training for the Satellite Office employees is non-existent. You are forced to sink or swim (which is difficult based on the amount of information/variables you must handle). My office is not located in Cincinnati (the Home Office) so my supervisor has free reign to manage however he sees fit. He takes pleasure in watching people squirm. He is unprofessional and discusses personal information about employees with their coworkers. He openly makes fun of our customers (in this case, the agents who submit their business to us). He is too involved in office gossip to actually manage our office. Despite all of this, his peers and upper management seem to like him and don't question the decisions he's making on their behalf. In an office of 13-15 employees, he has consistently fired (or pressured people into quitting) over half of the staff. We are down to 7 employees in our office now. The workload has not decreased, just the staff. Morale is low.
