Constantly changing faculty and senior administration, growth outpacing HR's capacity to deal with it, lack of communication from administration about frequent changes in the organization.

Pros

The kids are the best part of the job. Working in a corporate structure in an educational environment feels debased and wrong.

Cons

Teaching isn't a cash cow, and this is no exception. In addition to a poor salary, teaching assistants are expected to work additional hours and subscribe to a half-baked philosophical pedagogy.

Pros

Great mission, and great for recent grads. Provides a good community and opportunity to keep one foot in academia. You will learn a lot about teaching and hard work. Great professional development, and decent pay for a single recent grad.

Cons

High stress high pressure low wages and not a lot of opportunity to make more money except in admin. Some politics and back stabbing, as with any work environment. Not good for older or experienced teachers. Work life imbalance.
