Great-if you're an anti-mask, anti-vax, Evangelical Christian.

Pros

Really the only pro is the coworkers.

Cons

School leadership has very anti-mask, anti-vax, conservative Christian beliefs. Religious iconography is everywhere, despite saying that they aren't a religious school. School has been sued by the ACLU for anti-LGBTQ policies. Nepotism at every turn. There were serious discussions of how to get away with serving alcohol at a school sponsored event, with students and families. No coherent operating plan. Definitely a "throw stuff to the wall and see what sticks." Work life balance is non existent, and pay is very low. People log in as early as 7AM, and stay on until 8 or 9PM, with some working for a good portion of their weekend as well.

Great Hearts Academies Response

Thanks for your response. We appreciate your feedback. We know all organizations have areas that need and require improvement and growth. We have addressed all concerns mentioned. We believe in responsibility, respect, dignity, accountability and respect for each individual we work with and each student we teach. We have met all state standards and implemented a safe return policy with respect to the pandemic. That policy was put in place with medical professionals to protect our students, staff and community. Our values and beliefs do not center on a Christian belief system. We do discuss morals, ethics and values that many people of different backgrounds study that lends itself to what is true, good and beautiful. Many times people ascribe that to Christian beliefs, however we believe these are ethics, values and morals that all humans should explore. We have addressed and resolved many issues with respect to school policies to show honor, respect and human dignity to each student and employee. We strive to get better as we learn and grow. We will continue to work to make sure that our schools are open and welcoming to all individuals.
