The opportunity to cross-train within a team is promoted by executive management. Upward mobility is attainable. Team managers are hand-picked, not only by the executive team, but by would-be team members. What's more, if all the worker bees were hit by the proverbial bus, every single manager, director, executive - even the CEO - actually know how to execute every aspect of the business without flaw.
Cons
Upward mobility can sometimes be driven via what seems to be a popularity contest. The company has done so well, and expanded so rapidly that faces can be lost.
