Not really mission aligned

Pros

Started off well and they hired great talented people in the beginning. They had a great work culture and treated everyone fairly.

Cons

Started hiring people who did not fit the culture and hired people overseas who did not treat people well. This had an immediate trickle-down effect. People who started early in the company gave their all to the business and then they were just laid off. They gave one employee a fake role and led them on to believe that they were going to build out a department and then laid them off and canceled the entire program. The majority of individuals who got laid off were people of color.

Pros

- coworkers are smart dedicated and collaborative - people do care about the mission - interesting projects

Cons

- Shaky execution of strategic vision - lacks sophisticated ways of working for a company of this size, leading to last minute changes, constantly shifting timelines, blame shifting, and in my opinion lackluster final products - three layoffs in two years decimated ability to work effectively.

Pros

- A socially driven mission that everyone working there is passionate about! - Being B2C, it's easy to relate to - It's very cool to see billboard or Superbowl ads for Greenlight, makes you proud to be a part of it! - Fun culture, loved working with my teammates

Cons

- Fire drill culture at times and whiplash (as a reaction to senior leadership's mood that day) - Product direction kept shifting - RIFs (like most bigger tech companies)
