I worked here for 3 years and do not mind continuing
Pros
I joined the company almost 3 years ago, having moved to St. Petersburg from Moscow. It so happens that I have a good friend from whom I often heard enviable stories about his work (the company name was not mentioned). What was our surprise when I told him about the offer from Grid Dynamics - all his stories were about this company! Now, after years of work in this company, I also have something to tell: 1) Almost all three years I worked on one stable project (which is important enough for me, since I get attached to the team, and in general I like stability). In contrast to the "management domination by young Russian males" mentioned at the previous review - most of the time I worked under two female managers, and do not mind continuing :) 2) Onboarding - step-by-step instructions helped me immediately join the project, and the HR-team here at GD really do a lot and help to “socialize”. The company holds meetings for all newcomers along with great numbers of unofficial parties and events 3) My colleagues are the most pleasant people I ever worked with. I can discuss not only technical aspects, but also non-working activities - they always make my day! I saw review about the "toxic" community, and there are probably such people here, but I was lucky with the people who surround me (and I'm not only about people on the project - we also communicate "out" - e.g. on corporate football and volleyball as well as company-global parties)
Cons
Cons worth noting: - The company has adopted a policy of work from home, so it’s sometimes difficult to meet the whole team in one place - this is not so much a technical hindrance (in our age of zooms and slacks), but socially. - I’m not sure that this is a con, but for me, as a family man with a baby born, it is: the company welcomes long-term business trips. In fairness, in the absence of a family, I would not mind going for a long-term, but the child makes me make a difficult choice.
