I worked here for 3 years and do not mind continuing

Pros

I joined the company almost 3 years ago, having moved to St. Petersburg from Moscow. It so happens that I have a good friend from whom I often heard enviable stories about his work (the company name was not mentioned). What was our surprise when I told him about the offer from Grid Dynamics - all his stories were about this company! Now, after years of work in this company, I also have something to tell: 1) Almost all three years I worked on one stable project (which is important enough for me, since I get attached to the team, and in general I like stability). In contrast to the "management domination by young Russian males" mentioned at the previous review - most of the time I worked under two female managers, and do not mind continuing :) 2) Onboarding - step-by-step instructions helped me immediately join the project, and the HR-team here at GD really do a lot and help to “socialize”. The company holds meetings for all newcomers along with great numbers of unofficial parties and events 3) My colleagues are the most pleasant people I ever worked with. I can discuss not only technical aspects, but also non-working activities - they always make my day! I saw review about the "toxic" community, and there are probably such people here, but I was lucky with the people who surround me (and I'm not only about people on the project - we also communicate "out" - e.g. on corporate football and volleyball as well as company-global parties)

Cons

Cons worth noting: - The company has adopted a policy of work from home, so it’s sometimes difficult to meet the whole team in one place - this is not so much a technical hindrance (in our age of zooms and slacks), but socially. - I’m not sure that this is a con, but for me, as a family man with a baby born, it is: the company welcomes long-term business trips. In fairness, in the absence of a family, I would not mind going for a long-term, but the child makes me make a difficult choice.

Pros

Solid salaries. A very competent recruiting team capable of hiring good engineers means you will be surrounded by professionals.

Cons

A very thin and incompetent layer of management. Once you are fully booked on any project for any client - you are no longer their concern. Relation towards customers is very submissive. Engineers are asked regularly to work on public holidays and weekends, and that's pretty much the only time you get to hear from them.

Pros

Great work atmosphere. Excellent office location. Benefits: Private health insurance, table tennis, fruit...

Cons

Depends on the project. Some projects are good ad interesting and some are not so good and there is a no room to advance unless you manage to change the project. If the project is shut down you will probably get fired. Although they say that they will find new project , it did not happen.
