Pros

Everyone at Grow is constantly trying their hardest to find ways to help customers with leveraging their data. Grow is a very complex application but it does SO much to help those in the SMB space (first-time BI purchasers) dip their toe into the industry. In addition, Grow is preparing to be hyper-scalable for those who wish to stick with us in the long haul. We're developing features related to BI that have never been done before and the people here are all doing all we can to make sure it goes as well as possible. The leadership team is the most transparent I've ever seen. They're not afraid to admit their mistakes and where they've done wrong. I have personally never been treated anything other than extremely well and professional during my time here. I wake up every day excited to go and bring ideas to the table knowing they'll be heard.

Cons

There are obviously growing/shrinking pains with a start-up. It's not a mystery why those who leave bad reviews about Grow are past employees. Of course they're upset at the company for being laid off or let go, but it's life -- sometimes it happens. Plus, almost all ex-employees have been able to find great, more lucrative jobs after their time at Grow due to the incredible skillset you acquire at Grow.

Pros

Some of the smartest and kindest people I've met work(ed) at Grow. I enjoyed most of my time there and learned some great skills that have helped further my career. Business Intelligence is fascinating and it's a huge problem to solve. There are definitely people working at Grow that are driven to solve that problem, and care deeply about the usability of the application and customer feedback and needs.

Cons

About 80% of the time the product worked as advertised. The other 20% was extremely painful and taxing on employees. I was told about every three months that things would get better, that we'd fix big issues, that we'd improve the customer experience, etc. I had weeks where none of my customers could use the platform, and I could do little else but tell them "I'm sorry about this, and I don't know when/if any this will ever get fixed." Some poor management decisions have led to extremely high VP/Executive turnover in the last couple years. Also, a massive layoff in December 2019 left many employees jobless right before the holidays. After spending months increasing new hires, investing in expensive executives, and kick starting half-baked initiatives that didn't pan out, cutting 40% of the company was an incredibly bad look. About the product itself, many new features seemed hastily thrown together in an attempt to appease ownership and board. The application improved by leaps and bounds over my time working at Grow, but instability would rear its ugly head every few months as part of the pains of scaling. Lastly, opportunities for more responsibility were hard to come by. I don't blame any middle management for this though, their hands were tied with budget and headcount restraints. When a department and company are shrinking, it can be hard to promote people, even if one feels their team members deserve more responsibility/pay.
