Pros
If you prove yourself as reliable and solid, you can pretty much work as much as you want. They are aware of which officers are wanting more hours and who are available on short notice. If you step up and accept an assignment when they are short staffed,instead of always saying no, they will keep you in mind for new higher paying posts that come along. If you are always late, and just do the bare minimum when you are at work, of course they are not going to offer you a promotion or a higher paying position. Why should they?
Cons
I have read complaints, and tend to lean towards sour grapes. The majority of the operations managers at the office started out as security officers.
