Pros

-You'll meet and learn from a lot of hardworking individual contributors that go above and beyond their roles -High impact competitive space to be in

Cons

-Frequent reorg events across multiple departments -In the last 1-2 years, influx of new junior-level managers from big companies like Thermo Fisher, Illumina, Roche, has led to weak middle management that isn't used to the pace and level of caliber needed for Guardant -Middle management's lack of alignment with upper management has led to poor communication, poor execution, and as a result, burnt out and frustrated ICs -Consistently feeling like timelines are always missed and never on track

Pros

Decent benefits, good salary, free food

Cons

Unfortunately Guardant has really gone downhill since becoming a publicly traded company. The pressures seem to be mounting. Management that used to be supportive and excited now seem to want to rule by fear and intimidation. People are leaving in droves and many who haven't are planning their exit strategy. The culture went from curing cancer and helping patients to how much money can they make. Employees are not valued.

Avoid or quit if you can

Pros

Competitive pay, free lunch and free snacks.

Cons

Beware of discrimination and harassment. HR are unresponsive if you don’t follow through with your complaints. No room for growth even if you have the potential because of favoritism. Direct superiors have no empathy and some don’t observe confidentiality (talking about PIP in break room where other people can hear).
