Pros

Catered lunch and cool co-workers.

Cons

Not sure where to start! I have pretty solid experience in the Biotech customer service field. Out of all the companies I have worked for, the management for the CS department is the worst I’ve ever experienced. I was only acknowledged by management only 1 time-- the first day I started! After that, communication and follow up was sparse. Management is only good at micro managing and passing along emails to make sure work is done, without actually helping the team out when needed. This department is so understaffed and turn over rate is really high! I can see why people don't want to stay in Client Services. The Client Services Associates are overworked, case load is heavy and management provides little to no encouragement. The department includes Billing Associates and they are considered to be part of client services. From my short experience at the company, the Billing Associates team is fully staffed and provide little help to lighten the workload of the Client Services Associates. On a positive note, there are superstars on the Client Services team that really provide adequate and quality training, approachable, and in my opinion, can be groomed to effectively manage the team.

Pros

Lunch catered and provided 5 days a weeks, open environment

Cons

Department procedures were constantly changing with new procedures and processes. Company structure showed very much favoritism towards hierarchy positions. HR support hierarchy positions only HR do not care about employees. Hierarchy people only care about them selves. Hard to move up.

Pros

Fantastic Test, Competitive salary, Good benefits, Nice venues for meetings

Cons

Where do I begin? VPSales is a boy child who is only concerned about making his numbers and can turn on the tears at NSM when a patient is presented to him. Give him the Oscar! Training is minimal, GH does not waste money on training its sales employees on clinical data. Training is 4 days in Palo Alto to learn how to use a visual aid and show off the free snacks and lunch. Sink or learn to swim is the best way to describe. Training director is TOXIC and loves to tear you down. And finally.... Management. Sales management, unless you stay on the right side of a chosen few that are close the VP of sales you will be a target. Lots of shady behavior in the West region in the past few years. Constant shift of priorities to make numbers = Pushing the wrong test for the wrong reason to look good. Mine was a horrible experience from day 1. After being in the clinical oncology profession for over 7 years and 21 in Pharma I wish I could take back my 2 years at GH. Best advice....stay far away.
