Pros

The company does the "right thing" when dealing with their customers. The company is one of the oldest Mutual Insurance Companies left in America. They have a very tenured population of employees and are trying to service clients from 2 lives up to as many as 10,000. As a full array of vision, dental, disability, life and voluntary products for employees.

Cons

The downside is that the company changed service models in the past three years and are in the midst of trying to determine the best way to service their clients. A lot of effort to get things accomplished internally, but from a positive standpoint, they've hired a lot of executives with a great deal of experience in other companies like UNUM, CIGNA, AETNA and United Healthcare. This will give them the direction needed for the future.

Pros

None to think of, except limited ability to work from home- job was tolerable before they changed the way claims are administered without any input from employees.

Cons

Not only is management horrible, they are turning a complex and rewarding career into an entry level assembly line, and forcing highly skilled employees to work a call center. The days of talented, well rounded disability claim examiners are gone at this company, and in its current state I couldn't even recommend people buy the insurance because I no longer believe we "do the right thing." It's very sad actually- was once proud of the work we did. Taking a job in this department will do nothing to advance your career and will leave you with nothing but frustration and a new job search.
