Pros

The hours are good if you want something in pharmacy but not retail.

Cons

The training for positions for new hires is lacking in all areas. Management especially higher up does not support the supervisor or decision making of those in the “chain of command”. It allows its employees to be disrespectful to not only co workers but also customers and the atmosphere is extremely negative as well as the general attitude of the employees. No respect for others or superior. The golden rule, while it is part of the core values, is not practiced

Pros

I truly hope anyone considering working here carefully considers all of the reviews on this site. Saliba’s Extended Care pharmacy had humble beginnings and no initial aspirations to become as large as it has become. The goal of this organization has been to provide top-notch service to its customers, while creating an exceptional work environment for its employees. As it turns out, more and more people want to experience our truly exceptional service, and here we find ourselves today. Management is responsible for more and works more hours than you could possibly imagine. On top of dealing with the constant situations life deals you, these managers are responsible for making sure medications get out of the building and to their intended recipients in a timely fashion. They make every effort to accommodate as many situations as possible, while keeping the needs of the patients and customers serviced at the forefront of their priorities. Quality work is noticed and absolutely rewarded in this company. The President and management team has the utmost loyalty to its quality employees who provide exceptional work, the end. There are yearly bonuses and preferable schedules for those who earn them. I will put this in quotes and capitalize for emphasis: “EARN”. Perhaps some of the previous opinions shared on this social media site are written by employees (current or former) that do not have top notch quality work or work habits, if judging by the improper word usage, spelling and overall sentence structure is any indication. I hate meetings too. The “meetings” being referred to are stand-up meetings given by the president of the company to help keep everyone in the company abreast of what is happening. These are motivational to most of us and it really helps us put in perspective where we have been and where we are going. By the way, these are a direct result of someone saying, “why does everything have to be such a big secret?” Pharmacy is a fast-paced, often confusing, and always stressful career. Those who tend to do well in the environment that Saliba’s has created are those who have worked difficult jobs and understand what real, awful work is. By nature, this is a stressful business, but we try to have fun and make each other feel good because sometimes our customers don’t. The training process is lengthy and the workflow a bit confusing at first. I have found myself groaning about some new process or exception, only to find out the reasoning behind it was quite well thought out. We are in a service industry, like it or not, and must bow to the demands of our customers to have the opportunity to service them. Sometimes these demands are difficult to manage and a plan is thrown together to manage it. Is it always perfect the first time? Of course not. However, we strive for perfection with each iteration; it’s a never ending struggle to truly achieve world class service. The personal attacks that have been made on the President and Owner of this company are childish and unfounded; he is one of the most caring individuals you could have an opportunity to work for. He is often times here before anyone else arrives and is still here when most have left for the day. He has an open door policy and is genuine. He truly makes a conscious effort to be supportive to every one of his 140 plus employees and goes above and beyond to do everything in his power to make everyone feel valued and appreciated. However, as much effort as he makes to make everyone feel part of the Saliba’s family, remember this is also a business. Bottom line: Create value, do your best, have pride in your work (and yourself), try and be positive and I PROMISE you will be rewarded and love your family at Saliba’s Extended Care Pharmacy

Cons

Every company has cons, at Saliba's we have grown quickly the last few years, this causing work stations to be shared and training rooms to double as meeting rooms.

Pros

The people at Saliba's pharmacy can't be beat! Its not easy bringing together this big of a staff of hard working, determined, fun, caring people who work as a team like we do. I'm just so happy to be part of this group that busts their tails day in, and day out, to deliver great service. My workdays are actually fun. From the time I walk in the door, I know that I need to jump in with the team and start working hard to get the next run out the door. The days go by fast, but they're never dull. I don't know of any other RPh jobs where you get the variety throughout the day of breaking up your day between checking Cycle Fill, IV compounds, initial verification, and final verification in either "changes" or "dailies". Its really nice to have the variety to always keep you stimulated/ give you a balanced day, and to get you around the pharmacy throughout the day (or night) to catch up with all your friends!

Cons

Every job can be tough at times, but I can honestly say that I have no qualms worth mentioning.
