Pros

You can benefit from the great employee discount wich is 40%, besides that there is no positives to work for guess.

Cons

The hourly salary of $9 is ridiculous and amount of work to be done for this salary is insane!! No respect between fellow co workers, very child like athmosphere. Oh and do not expect to have a life besides your job, it simply won't happen. when you close the store you will be lucky if you get out by 11:30 pm. also I don't know if it is legal but they make you take only a half hour lunch break no matter how many hours you work during that day. All the people i know that work in retail have a full hour break. just take my advice do not even consider working at guess unless you are looking to get a great employee discount.

Pros

There are some great people there and there are some terrible, evil people. If you find the good ones, you will do well. The discount on products is nice, especially the shoes. The dress code is casual. The name is good for your resume.

Cons

Lack of clear direction. Lack of buy in. No one wants to be accountible or take ownership, yet you are always responsible for things that someone forgot to mention to you or something you were supposed to complete in the 25th hour of the day. Micro-mangement of unimportant details while the elephants in the room get ignored. Right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

An exciting, sexy place to work.

Pros

If you know how to work the system and play office politics, you can move up very quickly here. In general, GUESS employees are very passionate about their work, and they usually have the power to implement change without very much red tape. Entry level employees are not generally expected to work long hours, although managers and above are. Plus, it's fun to work for a sexy and fashionable company that all your friends know of. Benefits are pretty generous, and perks include an on-site gym, cafe, casual dress code, and 40% discount.

Cons

If you're not comfortable with a political environment, you won't succeed here. There's not much teamwork; it's a very competitive place to work. Paul and Maurice Marciano can be very difficult to work for if you have a lot of interaction with them, and, yes, they have been known to make decisions based on a whim or personal feeling. They are brilliant business people, but tend to get into the details of the business, instead of focusing on the bigger picture.
