Pros
I’ve worked within my account team for the last two years and have had varying team/work experiences. I think it depends on the project you’re staffed on, like many consulting gigs. I’ve learned a lot about the consulting world and generally feel supported by my team.
Cons
We get paid less than most consulting firms, and the salaries are determined by a formula with very little room for negotiation. I know many colleagues who will work 6 months - 1 year to get consulting on their resume before moving elsewhere. If we were paid at more of a market rate, I’m sure more folks would stick around. It’s also kind of difficult to get promoted which, again, is one of the only ways to receive a decent salary bump.
