Pros

You get to meet very nice, cool people.

Cons

1. Extreme repetitive and boring work. The first few months in this job is interesting because you get to learn everything about the database and techniques when reaching to to potential advisors. After that, you start to lose motivation because management keeps pushing you to do better, when you ALREADY are. 2. Even if you do really well in your job and try your best at everything, you don't get recognized for it. Clients make you do their work and never come back with feedback on the service you provide. 3. Absolutely no opportunity for career advancement. Unless you want to be cold calling and cold emailing random people on linkedin your whole life, get out and find a better job ASAP.

Pros

You can be the smartest one in the office.

Cons

I can't believe the average rating is 3.5 for Guidepoint. Please don't waste your time in here. All you need to do is calling, begging, calling, begging and calling. You don't need any specific skills or something ,as you can see on JD, just be a dog/servant of project managers and do whatever they want you to do. Horrible management, structure, people in this office and they are all selfish, greedy and shady.

Boredom on steroids

Pros

Coffee is free, some of the people are nice

Cons

This job is not client services, this job is not recruiting, this job will be sold to you as a great job where you will be working with institutional investment organizations , co ducting market research and coming up with exciting solutions. In reality you will be doing "projects" for the PMs. This will entail importing people from linkedin (200 + per day) into a CRM and sending "links" inviting them to the Guidepoint platform. You are a PROFESSIONAL LINK SENDER. You will be expected to send links to them on LinkedIn, CRM and email. They don't even have unlimited linkedin credits. Each time an advisor signs up you will get a credit. If they get into a call another credit called a "CU" that goes towards your target. This is an extremely dull job, you click links all day. Calling candidates hardly works as their numbers do not work. Project managers can come across extremely patronising. They have no prior experience with client control and it shows as most leads you get into the network even if perfect will not get onto a call because the client went "AWOL". Clients do not go AWOL it's just poor management. If many of these pms were not at guidepoint they would not be where they are. It became apparent to me I was in a dead end snooze fest about a week in. My motivation tanked and I could not be bothered with it. It was an absolute relief to not pass probation. It would be bearable if the culture was good however it's ran a bit like a cult. The weekly call is dry and dull. Nobody says anything in the office at all apart from the morning and lunch. There is no real outbound calls to clients and pms just email their clients all day. From what I saw of the sales team is the BD numbers are very low so probably very similar. Its a very passive aggressive culture and SR leadership were awful at just "saying it how it is". If you have 2-3 years experience do not be conned into this role. You will regret it. If you want an easy paycheck, a very comfortable working environment and have very low testosterone. Work here I will concede if you are a grad you could become a PM here within 2 years. It might destroy you mentally however from dullness.
