Pros

The three pillars that the company has been build on are Accountability, Rationality, and Collegiality. These core values are introduced to you the moment you interact with any Guidewire employee. You are given a rare opportunity at Guidwire, you are trusted, treated like adults, and given the tools to be successful. If you don't feel this way, you CAN talk to the management team, and they will ensure that the appropriate modifications are made to ensure your success. You can never tell what life will bring you, but I truly believe that I am in this for the long haul. Go Guidewire!

Cons

Sometimes the excitement from all of the learning and growing opportunities, lead you to work longer then usual hours. This can be beneficial form the accomplishments, but sometimes detrimental from the amount of time it inadvertently take away from your personal time.

Pros

For the first time in my life, I am still excited and happy of my job after 2 years in the same company. Guidewire has kept its promise to not being an usual place to work, to value (and reward) capacity over seniority, to put clients success as a key goal.

Cons

For people in services, work/balance is not easy since you are travelling 4 days a week (Monday to Thursday) every week. Working from home on Friday is great but please consider working an entire week from home every 2/3 months.

Pros

The culture is embraced at all levels - honesty and integrity, in particular. Every employee has a voice and is encourage to express it. It may not always mean change, but it is acknowledged.

Cons

Growth has created some middle management issues and odd management structures. It is losing it's flat org structure and, with it, the 'we're all together' attitude. Perhaps inevitable, but a loss nonetheless. There is an attitude from some long-time execs that it is a privilege to work at Guidewire that seems to undermine their value of continuous improvement.
