Pros

Guidewire employs Great people, provide an Interesting job in an Agile and Friendly environment. It's not an up-or-out model and culture is great too. Friday work from home is a plus!

Cons

Lot of travel if you don't like that doesn't help your work-life balance even with the friday work from home. There is a great request of work from customer and it is difficult to get some training / develop skills not strictly related to project.

Pros

The relatively flat organizational structure really fosters a sense of community and openness. My colleagues are a bright and talented group that are a pleasure to work with.

Cons

The rapid growth of the organization in 2012 and 2013 was challenging. However, growth has leveled off to a more comfortable and manageable level in 2014. Also, tunneling through granite is never easy...but definitely rewarding.

Very little politics. Everyone is free to contribute and grow with the company. Employees are generally empowered with some limits.

Cons

With the IPO, bureaucracy has crept in. Seems to be a necessary evil. Work-life balance is not optimal especially for traveling employees.
