Pros

Guitar Center gives a good discount to employees, which are mostly musicians. This is great for getting gear for gigs

Cons

high worker turnover, low pay, boy's club atmosphere, inefficient business practices, makes music feel sleazily coorparate

Pros

There is plenty of opportunity to define your own income level and move up within the company if you have a solid work ethic and a willingness to learn. If you have natural talent as a salesperson and understanding of music gear you can go as far as you like.

Cons

There is high turnover because of lack of work ethic or lack of drive to sell. Having to constantly train new hires on the floor slows workflow.
