Pros

Most of your co-workers are truly kind and easy to have a good relationship with. Extensive training ensures you are well-prepared for your job. The opportunity to help individuals navigate the labyrinth of the United States' healthcare system can be emotionally rewarding.

Cons

Authoritarian managers too often micromanage and crack down on your personal autonomy (e.g., cell phone use on break time, can only use paid time off for days off). The CEO gives off the veneer of a kind old doctor but does not really care about his employees. This is reflected in the fact that this organization is a multimillion-dollar system that is actively trying to merge with Bellin Health, but then states that Gundersen cannot 'afford' to increase benefits to their employees. Asinine policies that are not fully justified beyond, 'Well, we have to do this because of the Joint Commission.'

Pros

Great innovation Collaborative Compassionate Ingenuity I’ve enjoyed my time with Gundersen and I’ll be there until I retire.

Cons

Hard to get things changed unless you are in a senior leadership or know the right people. It has taken a while to get wages up to average wages- this was recently rectified.
