Pros

Exceptional retirement plan that includes employee contribution, employer-matching contribution, plus an annual "bonus" employer contribution if the organization does well for the year.

Cons

Expensive employer-sponsored health insurance plans, poor pay, extremely poor leadership across the board from top-down. Extremely unequal treatment and pay from one employee to the next. Some are required to have 4yr. degrees for their jobs, others aren't. Some are allowed to work remotely from home, others aren't. Some are required to work a minimum of 45 hours per week, but the person sitting next to you with the exact same time is lucky to put 7 hours in a day. If you are looking for support, mentorship, good benefits, a good work-home life balance, do not work here.

Pros

For now, they have a rich retirement package...decent healthcare services.

Cons

Too many to list, but a few...legacy culture in a small town, internal struggles for power, control, and having an edge. Extremely dysfunctional, chaotic and over working some leaders, while allowing absolutely worthless leaders hang out and collect a hefty salary.

Gundersen Forgets About their "Background" Employees

Pros

Gundersen does a great job and keeps a majority of their employees happy and engaged that work in direct patient contact. The offer great benefits and will match 401(K)s. They also have a great orientation program, leadership training, and career development. They really care about their leadership, as an entire organization.

Cons

Even though the entirety of the company cares about their leadership, it is not exemplified in day to day tasks or meetings. Gundersen does not hold inadequate employees responsible but instead moves them to a different position. Senior Management and their training staff work very had to assist all employees, however, if you have a bad manager or a bad director-nothing will be done about the situation.
