Pros

Decent pay, appreciative patient's and some co worker's. Options to join the union.

Cons

Some of the supervisor's micromanage you. Along with some co worker's. Most are either to busy flirting with the female staff or sitting in office not helping there staff. Stressful workload for the amount of thing's you have to do with low pay. Be prepared to be thrown into multiple positions that you didn't actually sign up to do. I.e. work in the dishroom all day washing dishes not running trays to patients rooms. Have I known this I would've never applied. Often time's your left with broken tablets and equipment that makes it impossible to do your job. The training is inadequate, most employees are miserable and extremely high turn over rate. They offer this employee recognition program yet I was there for 3 months and only after I put my notice in was I told I was valued and will be missed. Even though I've been told by co workers I was an extremely hard worker and asset to the team.

We’re sorry you feel unsupported by your manager. While we work hard to set our leaders up for success by providing training, education and more, we recognize that sometimes even the best leaders can fall short. That doesn’t make it any less frustrating for you. Thank you for sharing your experience. We will use it to continue to improve and help our leaders support their teams.

Pros

Family of coworkers in it together. Management is pretty good and looking out for the employees.

Cons

Our ER techs get the walked on by compensation. The management are appreciated and are constantly attempting raises on our behalf. Gundersen unfortunately values it’s ER techs below other entry level positions that do less.

It’s important to us to help employees maintain work/life balance. We’re sorry to hear that you feel overworked and understaffed. It’s true that many industries, including healthcare, have been affected by staffing shortages since the onset of Covid-19. Gundersen has not been immune to these effects. We’re working hard to recruit exceptional talent, and we’ve already made great strides in minimizing any staffing shortages. Please know that we’re so grateful for your contributions during such challenging times! We value your feedback and will use it to continue improving our quality of care and work culture.
