Pros

- Decent perks if local - free lunch, free gym, cool offices - Colleagues at similar level are great

Cons

- USED to be an incredible place to work with opportunities, travel and a culture of development, but this changed in 2021 with the shift of CEO - Now there are serious issues behind the scenes. A real “boy’s club” - those saved from redundancy shows this - Incompetent and inexperienced management allowed to make decisions without accountability - serious errors go without any acknowledgement - Directors with no emotional intelligence to understand how to get the best out of people. Some are known across the business as not being up to their roles, yet they’re still preaching to press articles about “authenticity” - Decisions made based upon ego and worries over “internal PR” rather than what’s best - The organisation is now top heavy as loads of lower staff have been cleared out and there’s just Directors/Heads Of left so an awful workload for whoever joins - Overall a toxic environment that needs *leadership* change

Pros

nice (empty) offices, good food @ Refuel

Cons

C-suite not capable of leading. First company I’ve worked for where the majority of c-levels lack completely business acumen, no international experience, vision. Politics No strategy overall but specifically little product strategy for a product based organization Entire organisation operates in silos Poor People/HR centric approach, very junior employees in director, VP roles who are not able to implement processes such as Performance management, internal career progression, salary reviews, pay structure, global mobility etc. They let favouritism and nepotism happen across departments, have led an unfair restructure process, allowing Ben's boy club to make skilled and committed employees redundant while inexperienced 'friends' in key roles were protected.

Hey, thanks for your feedback. We know being so open and honest can be difficult, so we really appreciate it. We are really focused right now on establishing consistency throughout the business, and we feel our new Performance Culture Roadshow will help to demonstrate this. We are always willing to listen and work on ways in which we can improve, so we'd love it if you could reach out to your people partner to discuss your ideas further.

Pros

Great if you're one of the lads or love an office with loud music and plants. Free gym for locals. Super brand with potential to be great if cons are addressed.

Cons

The chiefs might be best mates but they are pulling in completely different directions. Very laddish culture. Two women have just been laid off the board. Only care about top line growth rather than a sustainable customer strategy. Don't listen to their colleagues. Completely hypocritical of supposed values.

Hi - Thank you for being so honest with us. We know being open with how you feel is not always easy, so we really appreciate it! We understand times at Gymshark recently have not been perfect, however, we are still learning on our journey. We believe we are growing and maturing as a business, and more than ever we are aware of how we need to professionalise. While we are still a young company, we are really eager to use the feedback you have shared to learn and grow. We'd love to have a more in-depth conversation about your ideas, so please reach out to our People team, and together we can collectively work on ways in which we can make Gymshark an even better place to work!
