Pros

My coworkers were the best part of working at Gymshark.

Cons

I will never have anything positive to say of this company again. To watch how it treated its employees in the UK and in the US in the past year has been absolutely horrible. If you are interested in working somewhere that takes its employees into consideration at all, I highly encourage you to look elsewhere. This has been such a disappointment. Don't expect any growth either. You're just a butt in a seat. Salaries are viewed with a UK lens as well and getting paid your worth is a fight.

We wholeheartedly agree that all our US employees, current or not, are incredible individuals, whom we greatly respect. We are truly sorry we couldn't have made your experience at Gymshark more positive. However, we are optimistic about our future, especially as we change and grow every day. We believe the cascade of our new business plan is the first step in the right direction, as we intend to help and support employees with their personal and professional growth. Feedback, such as yours, is essential in helping us make Gymshark an even better place to work and we would love the chance to discuss the points you have raised in further detail. Pros

Especially below leadership levels, there are some really incredible people in the company. Additionally, there are some nice perks if you work in North America like fitness stipends and 50% off for all Gymshark gear.

Cons

The leadership will do "lay offs" for specific people if there's any lack of alignment or dissenting opinions. When I first joined they sold that the company was "family first" and talked about how the people in the company are what makes the business great, since then they've had three rounds of layoffs impacting hundreds of former employees, and subsequently changed their definition of "family first" to being solely about their customers. Beyond that, they're awful at internal communication, if you work in the US you'll be treated as a secondary employee and won't receive the benefits of being at HQ, and finally, and most egregiously, Ben Francis hired all of his college buddies (young, white, men) to be chiefs of the business and they are severely lacking any strategic direction at the top.

Hi! We appreciate the time you have taken to leave this review for us, and we are grateful for your openness and honesty. First, we would just like to let you know that we completely agree that all our North American employees, current or not, are driven and ambitious individuals. We understand that the past few months at Gymshark have been rocky, but we are also optimistic about the future. In particular, we believe our core values stand strong in our new business plan, which is currently in the process of being cascaded throughout the business. That being said, we are always looking for ways to make Gymshark an even better place to work for our employees, and so we would love nothing more than to have the opportunity to discuss the points you have raised further. If you could please drop an email to our People Team at glassdoorresponses@gymshark.com someone will be in touch! Thank you again.

Pros

Good benefits (which most companies give as well) affordable health, vision, and dental. Work from home set up reimbursement. Gym membership reimbursement. Half off employee discount. 31 days total given for PTO (which includes sick and holidays/or if you are an outsourced employee) 6 days can be rolled over. - pros unfortunately aren’t enough here to set them apart from other companies. Grateful for the experience with a semi-well known start up type atmosphere - great character building.

Cons

Fake culture, forceful “we’re a family” attitude. Fake transparency. Low pay. Very hard to move up or move to another department. The company wants to keep you where you are. They recently outsourced from the Philippines for lower wage and no benefits for these employees. Your schedule changes every single week. No way to get used to a sleep/life schedule. Immature/inexperienced staff running all departments in USA Denver office. UK staff and heads do not show interest in learning the downfalls of their US presence. Very clear US budget almost solely goes to downtown office which they force stuff to go to for “bonding” reasons instead of speaking truth “we paid for the office so you better use it”.
