Poor communication - and I mean VERY poor at times. People do not consider who gets affected by their actions
Lack of processes because things went so well when they didn't exist. Now it seems a lot of the time that when there are processes, they are often not fit for purpose and are just followed blindly. A company of Gymshark's size cannot act in this way anymore
Subject matter experts are often ignored in favour of the 'fun' option
People use the Gymshark values as justification to behave poorly or put themselves or their teams ahead of others or the needs of the business
Lack of progression and countless empty promises
People in more senior positions pass off their team's work as their own
Lack of visibility from the HR/People team - my people partner has changed multiple times and I've never had any communication to say so, so I don't know who I need to go to if I need to raise an issue
Salaries and job titles are all over the place and don't make any sense a lot of the time
Some people get put into higher job roles because the job itself isn't understood, or because the candidate knows the right people. Merit/competence doesn't always come into it at all
While mistakes are needed to learn and grow, a lot of people use them as a reason not to be accountable when they have got things wrong. Some people also get away with murder because they know the right people whilst others are punished for something small
I have also seen the same mistakes being made over and over from different teams around Gymshark, with no appetite to fix what went wrong previously which has wasted lots of money and resource
None of the above is unique to my position after having conversations around the business. I don't think that Gymshark does a very good job of listening a lot of the time
