Pros

Hybrid Work Policy: The WFH hybrid model provides exceptional work-life balance for the sales team, allowing flexibility while maintaining productivity. Earning Potential: With uncapped commissions, there's significant room for growth in OTE. Hard work truly pays off. Minimal Micromanagement: Management sets clear base metrics but gives employees autonomy to succeed in their own way. Team and Culture: The team is filled with driven, gritty individuals focused on delivering the best for customers. The company culture is more than just a slogan; it's actively fostered through events and committees catering to diverse interests like sports, wellness, and hobbies. Profit Sharing: End-of-year profit sharing is a motivating reward that recognizes everyone's contributions and incentivizes customer retention and new business growth

Cons

Onboarding Challenges: The onboarding process for the sales organization feels disorganized and underdeveloped. While a new enablement team is in place, progress has been slow, leaving new hires without the structure they need to succeed early on. Outdated Sales Collateral: There is a notable lack of up-to-date sales materials for both prospects and existing customers. Many resources are outdated and fail to reflect the latest software features, making it challenging for even experienced reps to stay informed, let alone new hires who lack foundational support. Communication Gaps: Communication regarding changes that directly impact sales is inconsistent or delivered at the last minute. At times, customers are more aware of updates than the sales team. While there are many communication channels, the absence of a centralized information repository creates confusion and inefficiencies. Limited Coaching Support: There is minimal emphasis on coaching sales reps to achieve their goals. This gap in leadership support often shifts the burden to tenured reps, especially as pressure mounts to close deals quickly. Whether this stems from staffing issues or misaligned priorities, it leaves newer reps without the guidance they need to grow and thrive.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful and balanced feedback! We're thrilled you value the flexibility of our hybrid work policy, the limitless earning potential with uncapped commissions, and the autonomy our management approach offers. It's equally rewarding to know that our culture and end-of-year profit sharing have positively impacted your experience at HCSS. We work hard to create an environment where our employees feel supported and motivated, so it's great to know these efforts are recognized! We recognize that onboarding, updated resources, effective communication, and coaching are essential for empowering the sales team. While we’ve taken steps in the right direction with new enablement initiatives, we recognize there’s still work to do to equip the new hires with the tools and support they need to succeed. Enhancing communication and refreshing our sales collateral remain top priorities, and we’re actively working on solutions. We’re confident that with continued teamwork and focus, we’ll address these challenges and elevate the experience for everyone. Thank you for being part of this journey and helping us improve. Your feedback is essential to keeping HCSS one of the best places to work! If you'd like to share additional thoughts or ideas, please don't hesitate to reach out to hr@hcss.com

Still A Great Company To Work At

Pros

When the original buyout occurred, a lot of our culture hit a low. That was not fun. But I can truly say that things have improved so much in the last couple of years. Also, we are still a hybrid workplace when others have cut that out, and it has been a great benefit to us. Other benefits have also been reinstated to some degree, which has also helped get us a little closer to what we were before. Kudos to the HR and Culture team for keeping things going, as well as all of the other teams and people who have helped so much.

Cons

While hybrid is definitely a HUGE plus, it can also have its effects on our culture. I guess you can call it a double-edged sword. Maybe we can work on improving that for those in and out of the office to keep that strong culture.

Pretty good for some

Pros

You get to work with some pretty cool people. They host lots of company events and sports activities that allow you to get to know people outside of your department. Many employees show initiative to organize an event for a hobby they really care about, and it's amazing to see what we can all come up with. I made some great friends there. They're also hybrid for the most part, and many people are working fully remote. The pay is pretty decent depending on the department.

Cons

It was an even better place for some time right after I started. Then eventually it became more and more corporate after Thoma Bravo bought it. And as a creative, I don't think it's the best place for other creatives long-term, as projects get pretty monotonous and no one wants to take risks. For other specializations though, there seems to be more interesting opportunities and promotions.
