      Pros

      While employed at HDR I've been provided the opportunity to take on different roles in order to grow professionally. While the nature of the business requires significant commitment, it is balanced with flexibility and rewards (compensation, recognition, promotion). Management is willing to provide learning and mentorship.

      Cons

      Every workplace has its strengths and areas of improvement. I've made suggestions and discussed personal concerns and they have be resolved to my satisfaction.

      Pros

      Great young professional program, lots of freedom to develop professionally, decent flexibility with work hours and plan, good coworkers, firm is respected in the engineering and architecture fields, good benefits

      Cons

      Mid-level managers leave something to be desired, not always as forward looking as they should be in today's world. They claim to have a strong set of values, but I didn't see this expressed in the employees. There is also a bit of a feeling of the HQ (in Omaha) being the flagpole that you want to stay away from, but at the same time if you're not there, you're left a bit out of the loop. They made an honest effort with the performance evaluation system, but the employees down the chain (including managers) didn't make it a priority.
