Pros
Some pros are the benefits received, Gym utilization on-site, surrounding area when it comes to lunchtime... To be positive, HMSA is a great "name" company to work for in regards to experience. Everyone knows HMSA if you live in Hawaii.
Cons
You will literally drive yourself insane here. The benefits don't compare to the amount of stress employees go through here. The pay is mediocre (which is understandable because it is a non-profit org). Employees are constantly being micro-managed, being asked more of them in regards to job duties, and ultimately being let down by their own supervisors, who most of the time lack the knowledge they need to support employees under them. In my case, I've needed to seek therapy due to the expectations and lack of appreciation HMSA has for their employees. A game room and a yearly luncheon in my opinion does not make working here bearable. Supervisors and higher are being glorified for mediocre work, and employees under them suffer the consequences. There's a lack of transparency in regards to management - worker conversation, and it's notable how depressed people are here.
