Pros

People are excellent / managers are good with a great work ethic / the business units; Allsteel, Hon, etc. are solid businesses. Rapid Continuous Improvement culture is

Cons

The biggest obstacle to progress is the CEO, Askren. An individual who shows no respect to people, bullies them and acts condescending. He rules by fear and position.

Pros

Many Dedicated people who care about their work

Cons

Management Will find ways to fire those they don't like by "downsizing". Manage by berating people. "Emperor's New Clothes" syndrome - upper mgt tells you what you should believe. No work-life balance. You work long hours in order just to stay off the radar. unfortunately I am tied to the area so options are limited, but this is not the place you want to be.

Pros

Nice product. Great co-workers. Good benefit package. Just changed vacation plan to be more competitive.

Cons

3-4 white guys in a room decide your fate--what you will do, where you will sit, who you will report to--based on ?? No one seems to know because they have never spoken to you and your manager can't answer the question. Then the music starts -- probably something from Led Zepplin or The Who. Music stops -- all those that tried to provide feedback or try something different are out. Those same guys follow same game plan and shake it all up again, you get a new manager, maybe a new place to sit. Pop that cassette tape back in, maybe Wham this time. No one knows who is doing what or why changes are made. They say they have goal to hit for female leaders but seems that only is if that female agrees with everything they say. Very few female role models as most seem to leave.
