Pros

Very large company, lots of opportunity for growth, many different jobs available. Generally a fun environment, good working culture (to begin with). People in the industry respect HP, ability to perform and enhance skills, training is available. You do become part of the company if you let, although not quite like a MSFT or Apple... Over achievement is possible

Cons

Disconnected from reality at a global level - the senior figures there are so far removed its sad. They struggle to relate to Millennials, no matter how much they say they do... SLT continues to refer to the new workplace/workforce yet they are completely jaded by their own sense of worth. The leadership teams that I work with/for (when you get them 1-1) are all too happy to talk about how much they can't stand who "leads" them, and that simply shows a lack of integrity. I have traveled the world with HP and met hundreds of HP'ers and most just sigh and shrug their shoulders, which saddens me because they want to achieve, do well and beat the competition and sadly, this is exactly what the leadership want, well rather need because without this, people would simply tell them to go jump (and a younger workforce will, the are not afraid to take risks). I have been here for well over a decade and worked in two regions and the GBU, and it was the latter that turned me. The "leaders" are clearly fighting for status, I've heard them bicker about each other, about personal attributes rather than professional ones, I've heard them say "I know what I'm doing won't work but it's easier to do this and watch it fail than it is to find a better solution" (Senior VP) I've stood there as VP's complain that other departments added something to their technology before they themselves had the chance, in my head I'm saying WTF we are the same company. I watch people managers completely disregard the need to foster people, that's what your're there for for crying out loud, not to say things like and I quote "you're only here to make me look good". Prior to the GBU work/life balance did exist.

Pros

HP Inc is a great, long standing company with many smart, hard working people. The culture is one of inclusion, collaboration and 'we are in this together'. Benefits are great and there is an increased focus on work-life balance, although that is very organization-dependent.

Cons

The constant threat of WFR that is not performance based but rather 'wrong place at the wrong time' makes top performers want to leave.

Pros

Let's be fair, HP is a BIG corporation and has many divisions and locations. I can only represent the pros from my own experience and perspective - which is from the west coast of the US and working on the side of the business that delivered Printers and PCs... this part became HP, Inc. in the recent split. The other half, Hewlett-Packard Inc is the side Meg kept under her wing and is a lot more of what EDS did with the systems and IT solutions; and I didn't have any experience with that business. For me the biggest PRO by far is the people you work with. HP is filled with creative, smart, funny, and caring people that you will work side-by-side for long hours in stressful situations and you will form trust and relationships. It is amazing to have been part of several teams that delivered product and services to the market, despite some pretty tough internal organizations struggles.

Cons

HP, Inc. (or Hewlett-Packard as they formerly were known) has a long, rich history in both innovation of technology but also in management and leadership practices. Yet sadly in most aspects, both of these are just that... history. The current day HP has been poorly directed from the CEO for over a decade. You get what you focus on to measure - and at HP what is being measured at the individual contributor level is not truly a reflection of the individual's values or skills, but simply a by-product of poor senior management decisions that get paid for by the people doing the actual work. But HP is big... and now there are two of them. So it would seem that in some divisions and some teams there would still be great jobs and environments. Sadly from my experiences, these are not the "norm" any longer at what once was a great company to work with.
