Pros

- Work is exciting. The company is constantly rolling out new features and making improvements to current products. That means dev work is never stagnant and I get to work on new things every day. - Welcoming atmosphere. From the CEO to the interns, every single person is friendly and committed to to the success of the company. I feel welcome asking for help or initiating collaboration on a feature. Management is very understanding as well. - A commitment to good software engineering practices. Unmaintainable spaghetti-code is not acceptable at this company. Everyone is encouraged to do their best work and extra effort is spent on creating a maintainable product. This also means that it is very easy to integrate yourself as a new engineer - Working here has been a great learning experience. More senior level engineers are always passing on their knowledge to newer employees. - Low level network programming. I really enjoyed low level programming in college. Low level network programming is this company's bread and butter so it was a great match.

Cons

- Some long (sometimes unexpectedly long) workdays - You need to be adaptable to work here. As an engineer you will need to manage multiple tasks at once including some customer support. - The company needs more engineers to support the sort of product growth that is currently planned

Pros

Financial technology is a great sector to be in and the technology at the company is very innovative. While the technology is innovative it is loaded with technical debt and is cumbersome. Employee benefits are average and kitchen always has free snacks to keep you in the office late. It is a fantastic company to work for if you want to just keep quiet and not have an opinion. The opportunity exists to learn a lot very quickly but the cons far outweigh the pros.

Cons

Cult like culture of senior management versus the peons doing work and a very strong sense of "us vs them". Financial area in general is stressful and hours can sometimes be long. If you are a good person and really are passionate about engineering and building great products, don't bother applying here. Your ideas and innovations are really not valued and turnover is high due to this. Note that no one has to bet on the positive reviews because management is writing them and asking employees to as well - so don't be fooled.

Pros

- Extremely fast paced, fast growing company with a lot of opportunity to offer - Interesting projects focused on high frequency trading for US equities - Not too stressful, hours are very flexible, although our feature rollout rate is extremely high and there is definitely a lot of work to go around - Small team (about 20 people total) that's very well managed. No micro-managing, but you also don't feel lost - Projects are owned by the engineer working on them, and individual contribution/input matters a lot - Great for engineers who are looking to work in a lot of different areas at once(development, test, support, etc) - Startup atmosphere and feel

Cons
