Pros

* Very well-structured teams * Team members are willing to help each other and other teams * Regional offices are easily communicated with little language barrier

Cons

* Well below industry standard salary to attract bright talents. * Little to no bonus for last 4 years, tells employees how poor the company's doing, yet it continuously to expand globally. * Management believes all countries' living standards are the same as Richardson Texas, in which for CAD$200k you can buy a mansion and have plenty left to feed your family! * Very poor career growth, unless you know where to kiss, or you're one of the executives' relatives. * No health benefits (Canada) even though it was promised and reconfirmed for last 5 years. * Absolutely no recognition from management for job well-done. * Senior management threatened to withhold salary and bonus when employees quit and trying to report/complaint to legal authorities.

Pros

Let me starts with asking the reader to keep the phrase "Its about what you can give, not about what you can take away" while reading the following; - I like the management, they allow me to contribute in any best way I know how. - Trust and delegations, accountability and authority - resulting to happy, competitive, and productive environment. - People with different cultures, geographic barrier, at their best to make it work. Diversity is treated as a key to success, on a daily basis. - Room for growth is just around the corner. For those who understands that one's growth is actually more valuable to the company than to one self, they can get it anytime. - Everyone can be a part-owner if they choose to. How sweet is that?!

Cons

- Intangible effect of the recession, up to the 5th degree. I consider previous post as 3rd degree. - Not maximizing owned technology and resources. What we are selling, no doubt, is the best and yet we are not using even the 50% of its capability.

Pros

HRsmart is a decent sized company with a small company feel. This has a lot of benefits, some examples: *someone wanted to put in a game room in the office and was able to do it *we wanted cheap mountain dew so the company bought a fridge *management is easy to access and around the office all the time *lack of red tape *ease of transfer between departments *authority to make decisions is given at all levels *employees are given a lot of flexibility There are some other general benefits: *great benefits for a company of its size (several health plans, short/long disability, life, dental, 401k, etc) *it is a self funded company which means people in the building choose the direction of the company. While there was some client loss (and revenue loss) during the recession of 2008, the last numbers show a > 97% client retention rate. I trust the new management team to ensure we stay on track with prudent growth. *there were some concerns with the product in 2008, but those have been resolved and significant investment has been made in the product. The new platform is less buggy and faster and there are many customers using it completely "inside the box."

Cons

That flexibility has its downsides as well: *its easy to make change in this fast paced company, but sometimes the decisions are made quickly and require more change management than they are given. Self funding also has a downside in that we only spend money we have. This means they replace laptops and other non-production systems on a longer life cycle than some companies. That being said, if investment is required to service customers (servers, hosting, etc), approval is given instantly.
