Pros
The employees really care about the patients and are generally great to work with You get experience working with diverse and vulnerable populations There are a lot of opportunities for personal and professional growth Lots of different positions from full time to on call to fit your schedule Lots of opportunity for more hours Some tuition reimbursement All of my supervisors have been great - supportive & understanding Pay rates are better than a lot of other non profit companies for this type of position
Cons
Must work weekends Weekends have less resources/support In general employees are spread thin, especially weekends Communication difficulties within departments and between departments Depending on how well the hospital is staffed, you may not have much/any time to prepare for groups, or leave on time due to the job demands
