Pros

They have plenty of walk in clients.

Cons

They only pay sylist 45%. The company takes 55%. Unless you make a specific amount in the first 8 weeks. It is usually hard to achieve.

Pros

Other stylists and our manager at our store are very good. She is the main reason for me working there. Our fellow employees help each other and unlike other HC salons, they are not trying to chop your head off.

Cons

That just about every quarter they take some benefit away from us. The latest one is that employees may not be able to buy products at 50% off, now we may buy them at 30% off. This will cause many (they are already talking about doing this) to have to travel to a beauty supply store adding an expense to the already depleted paycheck and tips. In the past year 2008-2009 HC changed 2X the commission rate for retail sales and in the past 6 months + or - they have made it nearly impossible to make money selling retail, but they insist that we must sell.
