Toxic, Unhealthy Environment

Pros

This was a good company when leadership believed in actual healthcare and putting the customer first.

Cons

Haleon is now profit over people. The decision to partner with Microsoft to replace genuine creative talent with AI has created a toxic threat culture of selfishness and greed.

Pros

Decent pay, work from home, interesting projects

Cons

They hire “Product Owners” but the POs have no authority whatsoever, yet they have all of the accountability. POs are micromanaged by Operations people who have no expertise in the POs domain. If you push back in the interest of supposedly YOUR product they will escalate to your boss because….you did your job! There is a huge sludge of middle management who add no value to the company. They don’t move the needle at all, so rather than being found out they create politics and chaos for the actual do-ers to demonstrate their worth. Projects move at snail speed because of endless pedantic processes and sign-offs. Very little room for innovative thinking because blame culture is rife. The most frustrating part of working here is I left an actual PO role to join Haleon only to take 3 steps back and become a pencil pusher. If you enjoy playing the corporate game Haleon is for you. If you want to do work you’re proud of look elsewhere.

Pros

The employees within the company, particularly those within the Data Office, are a joy to work with. They are friendly, very knowledgable and happy to answer any questions.

Cons

The overall company culture/ approach to new operational processes is not transparent and most employees continue to not feel secure in their roles at the company, due to several redundancy roounds. The business seems keen to remove UK and US technical talent, and replace them with individuals in countries who can be offered lower salaries, less employer rights and a worse work-life balance. They may aim to put consumer health first, but not the (mental) health of their employees with these changes.
