      Pros

      Good pay for a retail gig, with genuinely good benefits. 401k with employee matching and profit sharing contributions, health and life insurance, as well as a good discount on items in store.

      Cons

      They have a very strict tardiness policy. If you are even one minute late it is counted as an infraction as bad as being 15 minutes late. Have seen some really good people be let go for this

      Pros

      I had a great community and formed great connections. Talking with customers about what I'm passionate about and recommending new books for them was the highlight of my day. Never really felt like a retail job until the holidays come up.

      Cons

      Still pushing the mailing list like every company, which a lot of customers still don't care about/have time for. Weirdly strict about hours and schedules. They don't do half shifts, only 8 hours, which is nice, considering that's 40 hours a week.
