Team lifts are not required or recommended, as a result booksellers are pushing themselves too far and are hurting themselves. Many times I had to call off because my body was in a lot of pain. This was not what I was expecting when I applied. Working at a bookstore is far more physical than one would imagine. I'd say the cons outweigh the pros because a majority of the job is quite grueling.

Lack of leadership from the top. They're either absent, easily distracted, or just don't know what they're doing.
