Bad CEO who doesn't know how to lead

Pros

Employees are really nice and fun. People work hard but it's a flexible environment (unlimited vacation days). You get a lot of freedom and so can learn while here. Food in the kitchen, company events, and an open and transparent culture are all positives.

Cons

Career growth is lacking, there are no senior jobs worth having and revenue/subscriber growth doesn't seem to be at a pace where we can scale or opportunities will emerge. Maybe worth it to hang out for a year or two, but nothing beyond that (and the high turnover is an indicator that I am not alone in this opinion). The CEO is not a good leader, with no natural skills to manage an organization. The product and tech and marketing roadmaps change every time the CEO has a half-baked idea or a gets obsessed with something--the company turns on his whims. Senior Staff tries their hardest to shield the rest of the company from the CEO's mis-management. The CEO is on vacation right now and for the first time everyone here seems happy.

Pros

Some great people. Free grubs.

Cons

Non-existing leadership or mentor ship. Nepotism is rampart. “Clicky” culture.
