Pros

Nice work hours. Higher pay. Younger crowd has a lot of positive fun people.

Cons

The younger crowd has high turnover. Over committed to sales and new products but under staffed across most departments. Public finger pointing between departments when things go wrong. Lots of managers badmouth each other and spread negativity, some unprofessionally at MUCH higher volumes. Some of the culture is focused on being a favorite instead of work. 401K match is $1,000 a year. Saving an extra $1,000 a year can be done by just about anyone.

Pros

Working in a professional position, Software Engineer, it was nice to be able to work semi-regular hours, without much push for overtime.

Cons

Buzzer goes off at 7 am, you better be at your desk by 7:10. 9-9:15 morning break, 11:55 to 12:30 lunch, 15 minute afternoon break (can't remember the exact time) and buzzer goes off at 3:30. Even got scolded for being late when came in at 7:30 during a blizzard. This for a 'professional' position. All communications with people outside of software group had to go through manager. Very little information about company, products, anything outside of your specific task was provided. Nice Christmas party and summmer gathering, but you had to make a weekly contribution from your paycheck to be able to go. Senior management didn't care to associate with staff.

Management Needs Adjustment

Pros

No traffic issues in Reno

Cons

Management is completely dysfunctional and heavy-handed. There is unbelievably high turnover. Benefits are archaic and Data Management system is so old you can’t get upgrades. This is a top-down company that has no hope of real organic US growth until the management is completely purged. However, the Swiss Division is doing very well. And that’s because they are completely independent from Reno, NV. A first-year “Business Operations” student could figure this one out. Even the Heavy-handed management are not happy at this company.
