Pros

- The mission is an incredible motivator and attracts a great caliber of people who strive to do good. - There are real growth opportunities within the engineering organization, and individuals are supported on whichever career path they express interest in pursuing. - The strong culture of learning and knowledge sharing makes little room for egos.

Cons

We're growing fast which comes with the typical organizational growing pains and scaling challenges. There is a good amount of transparency and honesty around the obstacles the organization faces, however, and good discussion to try to solve them.

Great Overall Experience Thus Far

Pros

~6 months in and I love it! I enjoy coming to work every day, working with a team of myriad professionals with varied backgrounds but who are all working together in an effort to help the students, employers, and school partners improve the lives of those they interact with. Best support team experience ever.

Cons

Nothing really notable - other than, like any support job, it can be repetitive, but there's always opportunities to improve yourself or learn more about a different aspect of the platform, so it doesn't last long.

Pros

Although Handshake is technically a start-up, it doesn't really feel like it. One of our core values is Learn, Grow, Repeat, and it is evident that the leadership here takes that value very seriously for all employees as well as the company. Everyone at Handshake is supportive, wants you to succeed, and cares deeply that we are successful in what we do to best support students and recent grads. There are numerous avenues to learn individually and as a part of your team, as well as incredible opportunity to move up within the company.

Cons

Due to the fact that it is a start up, there is always something to do. This is great for people like me who need to stay busy in order to stay focused! But may not be for everyone
